What We’re All About
Scripture Union is an international, interdenominational, non-denomination and non-profit making Christian organization. We have been committed to our vision and mission among children, young people and families for over 140 years in Nigeria and over 155 years globally, through various strategies.

Our Aims and How We Started.
Our Aims: Working with the Churches, Scripture Union aims:
- Making God’s Good News known to children, young people and families,
- Encourage people of all ages to meet God daily through Bible Reading and Prayers, so that they may come to personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, grow in Christian maturity and become both committed church members and servants of a world in need.
How Scripture Union started. Started by a young man named Josiah Spiers in England in the year 1867. Children were usually left to play around during the church services at that time. He would gather them for Bible stories and Songs. That was the beginning of the Children Special Services Mission (C.S.S.M) and later Scripture Union. Scripture Union is now over 150 years old and it is found in over 130 countries of the World, without becoming a church denomination and does not nurse any such idea.
